All things must pass.
So it’s no surprise that although yesterday felt like the middle of spring, today I woke up once again in a winter wonderland. It was a winter wonderland that consisted of approximately 2 inches of snow, but it was a winter wonderland nonetheless.
Of course, this blizzard was severe enough to shut down the town, and so we all enjoyed a beautiful snow day. Except for all the people who spent the day panicking because they had no fore-warning for this snowstorm and were unable to buy supplies.
To put this into perspective, word from Minneapolis told us that they received over 10 inches of snow yesterday. Did they stay home from work today? Not a chance. In the Twin Cities, snow-days are for the weak.
So to sum up, we moved to the south two weeks ago, and have had two major winter storms while living down here. I cannot help but wonder if we are somehow responsible. Do we, unwittingly, possess the power to change the temperature?
Rather, this is likely God’s way of punishing us. He probably heard about how excited I was at yesterday’s weather, and decide to nip my joy in the bud.
