Oh thinly veiled racism, why must you rear your tiny misshapen head?
The other day, Arkansas resident Curtis Coleman, Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced that President Obama should be compelled to release his birth certificate. When asked what he would do to compel the President to produce the birth certificate, Coleman said he “would find out what steps” could be taken, and then “would take those steps.”
Coleman later clarified that although the issue was not a priority for him, he knows there is still a question about where Oboma was born. Although Obama himself released a copy of his birth certificate in June 2008, although Hawaii officials have said repeatedly that records show Obama was born there, although photos of Obama’s birth certificate are available online at Factcheck.org and other sites, although both of Honolulu’s major newspapers published announcements in August 1961 of Obama’s birth, and although no less than Bill O’Reilly has confirmed that there is nothing to this story, Coleman said he has not seen the evidence debunking the claims that Obama is not a citizen. Coleman stated that “If [the President] has nothing of consequence to hide, then there’s no acceptable reason not to have full disclosure.”
Of course, supporters will argue that this debate has nothing to do with Obama’s skin color. They just want to get to the truth!
Oh, wait. Never mind.
